Following is a list of web applications that could be useful for media artists. These are small software utilities which could be helpful in something-is-better-than-nothing situations. Just login and use these awesome web applications.

formatpixel: Online application that allows you to create page-based presentations; anything from magazines to fanzines, brochures to catalogues and even portfolios. Using the online editor, you can insert, design and layout pages for your projects.

You convert it: Online converter for documents, images, audio/video files as well as units (distance, area, volume etc.)

Screencast-o-Matic: Create a video recording of your screen (aka screencast) and upload it for free hosting all from your browser.

Draw Anywhere: Online diagramming tool which allows you to draw, modify and share flowcharts, organization charts, process diagrams etc.

Improve Your Images: Automatically enhances the contrast and tone of your images. Works with uploaded or hosted images.

PimpMyIcon: Create animated buddy icons and avatars using your own text and pictures.

Cameroid: Lets you take photos with your computer's webcam and add special effects at the same time. You can choose to download the photos to your harddisk, or host them online and use them on your websites. My personal opinion about this app is that it's more a fun app rather than designer's app but can be used by designers in extreme positions.
